It took us awhile to get back into things in Alaska. It was really cold when we got back from the vacation, -25 F or colder for about a week straight. Emily started cross country skiing class and has been getting outdoors a bit more, which has improved her attitude towards winter. Luke started a new job when we returned, but is probably on the lookout for another job, because the job isn't really what he wants to be doing for his career. He has some options right now and hopefully will have things figured out by the end of March. Emily is very busy at work and has a big project coming up this spring with stream gaging new (previously ungaged) rivers all over the North Slope of Alaska. It should be a very exciting, busy, and long field season this year. Hopefully it won't cut into her fun time.
Anyways, we've mostly been just out skiing quite a bit, working on some house and car projects, and working. Daylight is on the increase and we have nearly 12 hours of daylight and we gain 1 hour per week. Emily has been catching the public bus lately, so that we don't have to drive two separate cars, and now it is light out in the morning when she waits for the bus.
Last weekend we headed down to Denali Park, to take in a ski and visit with friends who live there. We left Fairbanks the morning we had 6 inches of new fresh snow. The Parks highway was actually clear so we headed out and had some fresh snow to ski in. Next weekend Luke plans on a 1-day 20 mile ski from Brian's house to the Golden Eagle in Fox, but Emily isn't sure she is up for 20 miles yet.

Great photos of skiing. I love the first one of you two with mountains in back. Could you email me this so I can print it and put it in a frame?
Fun to see skijoring.....The scenery is so pretty.
