We crossed at Huay Xai and took a boat down the Mekong River, overnighting in the town of Pakbeng and now arrived in the big city of Luang Prabang, where we will spend a few days. More on the float later, I forgot my cable to download photos. First observations are that Laos is very wild and undeveloped and saw many hill tribe villages along the river.

Merry Christmas and have a joyous New Year's Eve and Day in Laos -- it will probably be a big deal celebration there.

Hi, Christmas isn't celebrated here, but not sure what new years eve will be like, depends on if we are a city or not. If not in a city, it probably won't be celebrated at all. If in a city, there are many tourists, so should be a celebration somewhere.....
