We arrived in Morelia, Michuacan after an 8 hour bus ride from Guayabitos. It was much chillier here than on the coast and Luke even put on his winter cap. The temperature during the day is in the mid-60s and at night in the low 50s or less. The elevation is abou

t 2000 meters above sea level. Morelia is a beautiful old colonial city with many parks, churches, museums, universities, etc. I think it is the most beautiful city we have seen since our travels in Mexico. In the historical center, any new buildings must be constructed i
n the colonial style and cannot be taller than a few stories. The church is muy bonita when lit up at night (see photo on right). We ended up spending much of our time here wal

king around at night and during the day, looking at the building facades and drinking hot chocolate at many of the outdoo
r cafes. Since all the buildings are colonial, clothing stores, banks, government buildings, and even parking garages (see photo on left) are very beautiful and it is difficult to not peak into every single building we walk past. There is an old aqueduct, built in the 1700s, running through the town, although it may still be in operation, we aren´t sure. While walking around today, we finally found Tacos de Cabeza

(brains). Luke was going to try them because he thought it might make him smarter, however, after a second thought, he realized they were made of cow brains, and cows aren´t known for their smarts.....
