Weekend in Guadalajara

We wanted to stick around Guadalajara for a few more days to do some sightseeing because we were so busy during the week. Yesterday we went to Tlaquepaque, a colonial style shopping area, and then we went with some friends from the school to hike up the cerra (hill or mountain, in this case hill) for a view of the city. Then we saw the movie Ninos de hombre (Children of man in USA?). Today we switched from our homestay to a hotel downtown. We rented bicicletas because the close the main drag through Guad, which is usually very crowded with traffic and people can rent bikes for free and ride several miles down the street. Plus, the final match between Chivas and Toluca was on and so there was a huge street party with a bigscreen TV, but we couldnt bring the bikes in. So, I am updating the blog, while Shawn and Molly and Luke are watching the rest of the final game. We will return to Rincon de Guayabitos tomorrow and I will post some more pictures then. Tuesday is the national holiday Virgen of Guadalupe.
