On Sunday we took the shuttle from Playa del Carmen to the smaller fishing town called Puerto Morelos where we met Luke's family at Casa Colonial on the beach. Joe, Della, Tyler, Robin, and the kids, Huck, Gus, and Ruby showed up a few

minutes after we did. Luke and Emily visited Puerto Morelos a few years ago and thought it would be a more relaxed and less touristed place than the other places along the Costa Maya.
Everyone got settled in to the house and then we hit the beach right ouside our place. On Tuesday we all piled in the two PT Cruiser rental cars and headed for the Mayan ruins of
Tulum. Afterwards, the kids really wanted to eat tacos, so we headed into the centro for some tacos. The tacos were a

bit different then what the kids expected, but they really liked the piƱa and melon aquas frescas. Afterwards, Ty and Della took the kids back to the house, while the rest of us stopped in Playa del Carmen to get groceries. Ty is really enjoying the topes (speed bumps) that are placed on all the roads, including the freeway. In fact, he didn't notice one and launched the dumpy PT Cruiser across one going full speed at at least 45 mph! Gus and Huck loved it and Gus kept yelling 'YES' the whole way back. Ruby slept through it and Della almost had a heart attack!
On Tuesday we headed to Playa del Carmen for
Carnaval. There was a parade, vendors selling all sorts of Mexican handicrafts, household items, food, etc. and games. The kids seem to really enjoy it and so did the adults!
Today we spent the day at the beach and then headed into town to get some fish. The caretakers of the house are going to cook up some fish for us tonight. Hasta luego!

Hey everyone looks like they are enjoying their Mexico Vacation! That Carnival parade looked colorful. How is the beach for swimming, nice?
Hello to everyone!
