We ended up changing hotels in Mexico City to the Hotel Rioja becuase our hotel got a little too noisy with construction inside a building directly across from our window, all night long!
One of our favorite places to eat breakfast in Mexico City was Tacos de Canasta Cucho, where they pre-cook a bunch of tacos and serve them from a

huge basket; you could choose from tacos with beans, papas, meat, pork rinds and 2 types of mole sauce. They had huge bowls of spicy guacamole and/or pickled carrots and peppers to spice up your tacos, if you chose to. We would also get fresh made jugo de avena (oats) for breakfast. We would generally eat a larger lunch around 2pm, that would hold us over until about 8pm, so we could eat chile rellenos tacos at our favorite taco stand and drink ponche at the Zocolo. Another favorite was the restuarant and juice bar next to our hotel called Jugo Canada where we would get liquado de guanabana (smoothie) and beet & carrot juice.
