Another map of Mexico was requested, showing where we are. We are near Puerto Angel, on the southern coast of Mexico, south of Oaxaca City. We are heading to Chiapas (city of San Cristobal de las Casas) next, located to the east of Oaxaca City. Mexico City is located in the center of the map, with the star.
Yesterday we headed over to San Agustinillo and found a nice beachside cabaña to stay for a night. San Agustinillo is really nice, but the beach is really hot with little shade. We found a bread bakery that served really interesting lunch and had sate de tuna (indonesian kebabs) and chicken curry! I couldn't believe we found that place, it was so good, the best food we have had in a few weeks I think.
Luke didn't end up catching any tuna the other day but he had one on his line but it spit the hook when it was near the boat. He went out this morning to the rocks to cast his fly rod a few times and caught a small grouper that he returned back to the sea.
We decided to leave the beach, needing a change of pace, so are now in Pochutla to get money and buy bus tickets. We will overnight here and in the morning catch the 5 hour busride to Tehauntepec (near Salina Cruz on the map) and then stay there overnight to break up the long busride the next day to San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas (8 hours).
Adam Cudd: We got your voicemail message today, not sure when we can call, we'll try sometime this week. You can email luke (the best and easiest way to get in touch) at lukeboles@yahoo.com
