Nov 1

Today we woke up and had breakfast and then hung out for awhile and then the cleaning lady came. Next I cut Luke's hair (see previous post) again, because he thought he needed a trim. We experimented with a few different looks (mohawk, and the latest look for guys where they have short hair and then the bangs stick up) but he just wanted the buzz cut. We walked to the beach to maybe go boogie boarding but the waves weren't that good so we just hung out at the beach the rest of the afternoon.

We had one exciting moment today, when we discovered an ant infestation in the laundry room, there was about a million tiny ants crawling all over 2 small rugs and a box with paint in it. It was an awesome sight because there were literally 5 thousand ants (small) crawling everywhere. We grabbed the ant infested materials and threw them outside onto the patio. We then grabbed the Raid and had to spray indoors and the stuff we threw outside. Unfortunately, it was too chaotic to pull out the camera.

Tonight we went into La Penita to see the Dia de los Muertos alters, where the kids decorated the alters to celebrate the life of dead loved ones. We also strolled the main drag and ran into some of mom's aquaintences, Lupita the pasteleria owner and Marta, the gardener for my parents yard, who seems like an incredible machete-yielding woman. She will come on Monday to maintain the garden, we look forward to that. We head to San Blas and Mexcaltitlan (the Aztec island village) tomorrow for a long weekend. Have a good weekend!

Hi Mary - Glad you like our blog. Too bad, but I don't think we'll be here when you will be in Los Ayala. My parents live in Guayabitos, on the south side, kind of close to Los Ayala though.
