Yesterday morning we ran out of water at the house. They have the "purified" water delivered because the city water isn't working for some unknown reason. It took all day (and 3 telephone calls) to get it delivered at 8pm.
Today we went to the market (but forgot to bring a camera). We bought a kilo (over 2 lbs) of shrimp for under $7. We also bought a bootleg copy of Nacho Libre for under $2, but when we got home to play it, it was dubbed in Spanish. It is finally cooling off nicely at night, but this cement house really holds the heat in, so it doesn't always cool off in our interior bedroom.
Tomorrow we will go to Puerto Vallarta to catch a bus into the mountains to the east and visit the towns of San Sebastian, Mascota, and possibly Talpa. These were former mining towns back in the day, now they are just small mountain villages. It should be cooler up there too because the village elevations are 5000-7000+ feet. It should be an interesting bus ride throught the mountains. We are debating whether to bring camping equipment but this might just be a scoping trip. Apparently there is very nice camping, but limited transportation to the wilderness areas (i.e. hitch-hiking mostly or walking), and we didn't bring any lightweight camping equipment, so we would borrow stuff from Emily's parents. However, we learned there was good fishing in the mountain lakes, so Luke will bring his fly rod. We may be gone up to a week.

Hi Emily and Luke, this is aunt Sandy. I loved reading your blog and seeing your picures. All is well here in sunny Florida (and we have air conditioning). Michele and family are wonderful and Jess and Nick are doing well, Jess is very pregnant and will deliver "Lily" sometime after the 1st of the year. We are all excited about her arrival.
So when are you two coming down here for a visit? there is lots to see and do besides theme parks.
You could use the apartment as your base of operation and do some sights in the state of Florida. There are som very cool islands off our coast like Amelia Island,
Captiva, the Keys plus many more.
Let me know when you can come, we would all love to see you.
Have a great time in Mexico!
Love, Aunt Sandy
